Kazakhstan - Finland

In a Tazzoli arena almost full is played the Bronze medal final between Kazakhstan and Finland who lost the 1/2finals respectively against Russia and Canada. In goal will start Khudyakov for Kazakhstan, fortynine saves against Russia, Hallikainen for Finland, thirtythree shots blocked against Canada.

After only one minute and twentyeight seconds Kazakhstan is on a Powerplay beacuse of a boarding by Keranen to Myakish on the left side of the rink. At third minute scramble in front of Finland''s crease but Hellikainen stops both shots by Yessirkenov and Fadeyev. At 3''25" another good action by Yessirkenov who enters in the third and suddenly shoots, Hallikainen saves with the pad. Right after the shot Kazakhstan is on a powerplay again because of a penalty whistled to Laine for delay of the game. At 4''49" a nice slapshot by Savchenko is saved by Hallikainen who deflects the puck over the glasses. This is the unique dangerous chance for Kazakhstan during the penalty time, the powerplay has seen too many errors.
After six minutes of game Leimu releases a shoot from the distance blocked by Khudyakov. One minute later is Kazakhstan to be dangerous with an action orchestrated by Myakish in the neutral zone who passes to Plugarev. The forward shoots from a de-centered position and Hallikainen stops it, and in the following shift the kazakh defense gets worked up with a good effort by Pesonen who tries twice to shot past Khudyakov without finding the goal.
At 8''40" the game turns on in favour of Kazakhstan: bad play by Virta who passes the puck directly to Shin. The kazakh forward is free to skate towards Hallikainen and to put the puck in the back of the net in the five hole. After three minutes Kazakhstan doubles to score: Yessirkenov from behind the goal serves Strelchuk that after a good stickhandling display fakes out Hallikainen with a nice move and scores. After the goal the coach of team Finland calls time-out to reorganize the squad.
Dufva''s words manage to shake his team and at 13''58" Kohler puts Khudyakov under pressure with a short-range shot but he doesnt succeed to beat the goalie; thirty seconds later Appel plays the puck on the left and centers it but Pesonen shoots wide from a favourable position. Finland keeps attacking head down but in this way the team creates holes in the back and Kazakhstan takes full advantage of it at 17''36": Fadeyev skates on the right side and centers the puck for Kiberlein who deflects it in the net anticipating the defense and putting it in the finnish net for the third time.
Last event of the first period is a 2+2 penalty given to Strelchuk for high sticking. The kazakh player hits with the stick Heinonen in the face who remains several seconds down to the ice blooding out.
The first period finishes so with Finland down by three goals. Coach Kirichenko has read the game in the correct way making his team outplay the opponents and then sitting down looking for the counter attack when needed.

The second period starts with Finland in five-on-four and after 1''26" Laine shoots from the blue line and Khudyakov has to make a good save to stop the opponent''s shot. Thirtytwo seconds later Khudyakov is great once again in blocking a shot by Pesonen. At 2''30" Laine tries it again but a defenseman deflects it over the glasses.
At 3''54" Finland is in a Powerplay again because of a hook by Shin and at 5''15" re-opens the game with Pesonen that, exploiting a pass by Appel, releases a shot that enters into the net in the top shelf. One minute later Finland is on a Powerplay again, out Zlobin for hooking, and at 6''18" Finland is dangerous again: Laine passes with the skate to Appel but Khudyakov is ready to save with the pads. At the 8th minute Leimu shoots from the blue line, Khudyakov saves and deflects it behind the crease, Fadeyev picks it up and throw the puck long towards Shin who is all alone against the goalie and beats him with an accurate shot that goes in between the arm and the crossbar.
At 8''43" Finland cuts down the disadvantage with Kuusela who deflect between Khudyakov''s pads a pass from the right side of the ice by Virta. The game lights up and at 11''58" Hebert whistles two minutes against Shakhov for high sticking. After thirty seconds a big shot by Appel from the right circle rattles against the post at his left.
In the rest of the second period happens nothing serious: Kazakhstan administers the game leaving the initiative to the opponents relying on Khudyakov, superb as usual.

The third period starts with Finland not cut off yet despite the two goals disadvantage, but at 1''56" they are in shorthand for the third time of the game becuase of a boarding by Virta, but Kazakhstan doesnt manage to be dangerous. At 3''43" teams play at even strenght because of a hook by Medvedev. After thirteen seconds Finland backs to five skaters on the ice and is in attack again with a shot by Huhtaniemi deflected twice by Kazakhstan''s defense.
At the tenth minute penalty against Kiberlein for interference and Finland is again on a powerplay. At 10''30" a shot by Appel is stopped by Khudyakov in an unhortodox way and Savchenko saves after the intervention of the goalie. At the end of the penalty Kiberlein gets out of the box and goes on a breakaway but shoots right against goalie''s pads. Finland doest give up and at fifteenth minute is Huhtaniemi to be dangerous but is effort is stopped by Khudyakov, who is very good again at 18''30" who blocks a nice shot by Kuusela.
At 19th coach Kirichenko calls a time-out and Dafva calls Hallikainen to the bench in order to play with six skaters. At 19''04" after a faceoff won in Appel shots but Khudyakov denies it. At 19''22" an error by Huhtaniemi starts an action by Kazakhstan that is concluded by Medvedev on the empty net. This action closes the curtains over the game.

Deserved victory by Kazakhstan, well driven by Kirichenko and able to exploit the strenghts of the team and Finland''s errors. Great game by Khudyakov, 53 saves, good performance by Shin, two goals and one assist, and Fadeyev, three assists. For team Finland nice game by Pesonen but not good performances for Hallikainen and Laine.

Ну ФсЁ.....На 23-е подарок.
